An Indian poultry breed, called Kadaknath is native to Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. The breed is famous for its black meat known for its quality, texture and flavour. This poultry reared mainly by some tribal communities in Madhya Pradesh. Scientists from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jhabua, observed that the population of this bird is declining rapidly and is under threat of extinction and genetic erosion.
