Numbering surviving trees which are more than three years old, encouraging residents to take up planting of saplings, engaging tree wardens selected by the forest department are some of the issues discussed at an Exnora Green Protection Council meeting organised in Chennai. Honorary tree wardens from various parts of the city who participated, said only 25 per cent of the saplings planted under the 'Greenbelt for Abatement of Pollution' survived.
