KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Kochi Corporation to file an affidavit regarding the steps taken by it for the collection and disposal of garbage in the city. The affidavit should specifically state as to whether or not the Corporation has been deputing staff for collection of garbage from each household. The signatory of the affidavit was also made aware that if any of the averments made in the affidavit is later found to be not correct, the signatory would be liable for being proceeded against for contempt of court. The directive was issued by Justice Siri Jagan while considering a writ petition filed by Shameena Majeed of Pottakuzhi challenging the dumping of waste by the Corporation on the sides of Pottakkizhi-Pachalam Road and vacant plots near the petitioner
