Ms Harinder Sidhu, Civil Judge, ordered status quo on a suit filed by the Dalit community of Siswan village in Kharar tehsil for permanent injunction, restraining the defendants, including the forest Ranger, sultanpur Taprian village, and the District Forest Officer, Ropar from issuing permit for the felling of the Khair trees and firewood from the forest area within the revenue limits of Siswan village.
