CPCB tested soft drinks out of curiosity

Members of the joiint parliamentary committee on colas heard with disbelief that the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had tested soft drinks for pesticide residues out of sheer curiosity. For the record, it appears the CPCB, too, found pesticide norms exceeded EU norms, in most of the soft drinks, though sources indicate Coke got a cleaner chit.It seems officials compared their results to those of the Centre for Science and Environment, and the two government labs which did the official tests. But they kept the report confidential.
