New detailed images of the bottom of Crater Lake in Oregon, US, are giving scientists a new look ag a previously hidden place. Crater Lake, with a depth of 608 metres, is the deepest in the US and it was formed 7,700 years ago when a volcano collapsed and the resulting basin, or caldera, filled with water. The images are showing new details about the remarkable lake that has no river flowing into it and no outlet.
