Firefighters set trees on fire in efforts to prevent a major blaze from reaching the largely evacuated West Glacier and a nearby village in Glacier National Park. Trina Weitz, left, and Steve Heppner from an Alaska fire crew monitor the reconnaissance planes flying around the Robert Fire. The work was aimed at creating a backfire that would remove 2,000 acres of fuel from the path of the approaching forest fire.
