Curbs on development near TG Halli catchment area

Expressing serious concern over the decreasing inflow to the Tippagondanahalli reservoir, which is one of the sources of drinking water for Bangalore city, the Department of Ecology and Environment has issued a notification restricting certain types of development activities in the catchment area of the reservoir. A press release issued by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) said institutions or individuals desirous of undertaking developmental activities in the four classified zones of the catchment area are advised to refer the Government Order and the notification beforehand and plan ahead with due compliance.
