DAIICT developing robots for disaster management

The Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology (DAIICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, has launched a research programme which will facilitate the use of robots that will communicate and co-operate with each other during "disaster, rescue and recovery" missions. Institute director Prof. Arvind Kuchadker said that the robots will be deployed at a disaster site, man-made or natural, to collect necessary information and communicate to its human controller.
