Danfoss thrust on energy efficient solutions

Corporate Reporter CHENNAI: Danfoss India, a leader in mechanical and electronic components and solutions, has announced the completion of a decade of operations in India and a continued thrust on developing energy efficient solutions for its customers. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Sven Ruder, President (Danfoss Motion Controls Division), Danfoss Drives of Denmark, said there was growing interest from emerging sectors such as process industries, infrastructure, textiles, cement and sugar for the company's motion control systems and solutions as the products were useful in saving energy usage which could range from 20 per cent to 30 per cent depending on the application. The commitment to environmentally-friendly products and technologies had always been the top priority at Danfoss and its products such as VLT range of drives offered significant energy saving potential and contributed to the reduction of CO2 emissions. Acccording to Ravichandran Purushothaman, Regional Vice-President, Asia Pacific, Danfoss had already won $1 million of contracts to provide HVAC (heating, ventilation & air-conditioning) drives systems to the newly coming up airport in New Delhi. He said the company had partnered air-conditioning major Blue Star to develop and offer a wide range of solutions in energy conservation and optimisation. Danfoss has invested close to $20 million in India and plans to accelerate its investments with a view to doubling its market share.
