The Delhi high court asked the vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to appear in person in court on the next date of hearing for not assisting the monitoring committee in clearing the illegal encroachments on the bank of Yamuna. A bench comprising of acting Chief Justice Vijendra Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir passed the direction after Mr S.M. Agarwal, a member of the monitoring committee, apprised the court that both the DDA vice chairman and the Delhi police commissioner, who is also a member of the monitoring committee, expressed their inability to carry out the demolition drive due to various reasons.
