A deadly virus 'Pine Shoot Beetle' has hit the 'Kail' (blue-pine) trees of Murree, Galiat and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) forests since the beginning of summer season owing to drought. The virus attack has resulted in destruction of trees, which have been a beauty of Murree, Galiat and AJK for the last four generations, a senior forest officer said on Friday. "It is expected that with the start of monsoon rainfall the virus will be controlled and condition of the trees will improve," he added.
