The Haryana Government has given its nod for the India’s first high-speed train project, after a high-level meeting held at Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda recently. The Delhi-Sonipat-Panipat Corridor is going to benefit the people of Panipat, Gannaur, Sonipat and Delhi in a big way, with expected stations at Panipat, Samalkha, Gannaur, Murthal, Rai, Kundli, Narela, Mukarba Chowk, Badli and Kashmere Gate. Besides these, the adjoining towns and villages are also likely to benefit. With the finalisation of the alignment for the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) on Delhi-Sonepat-Panipat Corridor and a proposed High Speed Train connectivity from IOCL Complex Panipat to Kashmere Gate in Delhi, the region is all set to receive a major economic boost. According to a Haryana Government Press statement, the High Speed Train (RRTS) on one hand and KMP (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway, on the other hand, coupled with the proposed Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway is going to prove a boon for the Kundli-Rai industrial belt, which has a large number of medium and small scale industries. With the expansion of industrial zone and setting up of the National Institute of Food and Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) and a proposed warehousing hub, it will provide a boost to the industrial activity in the near future, in Kundli-Rai industrial belt. Further, Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway is going to transform Kundli into a major logistics and warehousing hub of North India. At the same time, Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal Expressway is also coming up. Once the proper infrastructure is in place, this area will definitely be a big industrial and IT hub with the upcoming IT park.
