Samajwadi Party's National Secretary and Member of Parliament Ramji Lal Suman, ha demanded firm action against Mafia gangs responsible for large scale deforestation in Bah area of Chambal ravines in Madhya Pradesh. Pointing to the dangers that dredging posed to wildlife to forests and aquatic life in Chambal river. Mr. Suman said corrupt forest department officials were responsible for large-scale deforestation. Large patches of forests had been turned barren hastening the advance of desert from the Rajasthan side.
