Delhi forms panel to look into rural matters

The Delhi Cabinet has constituted a committee headed by minister of urban development Dr A.K. Walia to examine the issue of continuation of special provisions for rural areas under the DMC Act keeping in view the special need of people of rural areas. These areas were exempted from certain provisions of the act by a notification issued in 1963. The Cabinet chaired by Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit decided to constitute the committee to look into the issue afresh. Ms Dikshit while briefing media said that the committee has been asked to submit suitable suggestions, which would be placed before the Cabinet.
