Delhi Govt asks Maruti to stop registration of new cars

Delhi Government has withdrawn the exclusive facility granted to Maruti dealers to register new vehicles with immediate effect following the Supreme Court's order banning all non-commerical vehicles not complying with Euro-II emission norms in the national capital region (NCR). In a letter sent to the Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL), the company which has a market share of about 80 per cent in the passenger car segment, the transport department of the Delhi government has asked to stop the registration process immediately, official sources said.
