Automobile companies will be adversely affected by proposal to ban the registration of new non-commercial diesel vehicles in the national capital region (NCR) . The move is being considered by the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority of the NCR, a powerful body set up under the orders of the Supreme Court. The ban will also be applicable to taxis. Conversion of petrol engines to diesel will also be banned.
