: In the quest to achieve the "international" looks and standards to coincide with the Commonwealth Games 2010, the Delhi government after vacillating for over two years will be opening 81 kilometre stretch of the Ring Road in the capital to the private players for construction and maintenance. The tenders have already been received and will be opened soon. The government is also opening up to international companies to incorporate technologies to tackle the problem of diminishing central and side verges of various road stretches in the capital caused due to repeated carpeting. "Besides building and maintaining the 81 kilometre Ring Road stretch, the company's job will be greening, providing appropriate signages etc. The tenders will be opened soon", said the Delhi urban development minister Dr A.K. Walia on Wednesday.
