The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has informed the Delhi High Court that a segregated cycle track project along Ambedkar Nagar to Delhi Gate has been approval by the Delhi Government. Owing to the large number of cyclists using the roads, the MCD has proposed to construct a segregated cycle track for the entire Delhi to be carried out in a phased manner. The MCD had already drafted a Bicycle Master Plan way back in 1998, and three officers of Corporation were trained through Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Programme (TRIPP) held by IIT, Delhi.
