Lakhs of trucks will go off Delhi roads from Monday following the All-India Motor Transport Congress decision to go an indefinite all-India strike. The AIMTC has given a strike call to protest against frequent increase in price of diesel, withdrawal of an amendment in Section 44 AE, raising the income limits for recovery of tax deduction at source from truckers' bills, move to popularise multi-axle vehicles by exemption from excise duty, enforcement of discipline among insurance companies in respect of non-adherence to principles of premium and tariff.
