Delhiites get the first Smart Card for their cars

The Smart Optical Card, which is expected to put a stop to waste of paper and liberate the vehicle owners of endless documentation, was launched for the registration of private vehicles of Sheikh Sarai Transport office. The Smart Card with a microprocessor chip and an optical memory strip is capable of both storing and processing data. It will store all registration details such as biometrics, audit details of transanctions incurred on a particular vehicle aside from fingerprints, photograph and signature of the vehicle owners.
