The annual Plan for Delhi for the next fiscal has been fixed at Rs 5,100 crore here at a meeting between the Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit, and the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia. In his remarks, Dr Ahluwalia lauded the State for its performance in urban reforms but felt that much more needs to be done in developing Delhi's infrastructure. He suggested medium-term measures to abate pollution in the Yamuna River and emphasised the need for further monitoring of power reforms after the initiative for privatisation.
