Delhi High Court said public parks and roads cannot be used for public functions, including marriages. The restriction will be in place till a policy is formulated under the Master Plan. Passing an interim order, a two-member Division Bench comprising Justices Vijender Jain and Rekha Sharma issued notices to the Delhi Government, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). It has sought their replies to a public interest litigation filed by a voluntary organisation, Patanjali Shiksha Sanstha, within four weeks. The plea said parks and streets continue to be misused despite repeated orders from courts, including the Supreme Court.
