Building bylaws have select application in Lal Dora areas of Delhi where municipal authorities have demolished "illegal' constructions, Nationalist Congress Party legislator Ramvir Singh Bidhuri claimed, accusing the government of misleading people and the court. "The 1963 notification of the Union Government clearly states that except for factories, cold storages and slaughter houses, no building by-laws would be applicable to any other category in the Lal Dora areas. Such areas were also exempted from the provisions of Sections 408 and 417 that includes eating house, license for hawking articles, control of dogs, license for butchers and other related provisions and trades,' he told a news conference.
