Dengue: 16 more hit, 200 cases till now

Bhopal: As many as 16 people tested positive for dengue on Tuesday. This year, over 200 persons in the state capital have been affected by the vector-borne disease that has also claimed two lives. Five persons detected for dengue are critical. Most patients who have been affected by dengue this year are youngsters.A health department official said that 100 suspected cases underwent Eliza test on Tuesday. The samples were tested at various government laboratories. He said that samples of seven patients from outside Bhopal also tested positive. A high-level meeting of health department was held on Tuesday. Health officials have issued a warning of a spurt in mosquito-borne infection till temperature drops because dengue or chikungunya-causing larva cannot survive if mercury goes below 16 degree Celsius.
