Trees are becoming increasingly thin on the ground in the Wombat State Forest, according to State Government documents confirming community complaints of overlogging in the midlands region.The documents, obtained by The Age under Freedom of Information, show that because there are fewer high-grade trees in the region than official estimates claim, yields per hectare have declined since 1995.
