The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which has around 105 parks and gardens under its purview, has not plans of increasing the same. An official though agreed that there is a need for more green spaces but, "the directive for converting more open spaces into garden has to come from the above." Authorities are taking few steps to increase the green cover in proportion to the rising construction areas.
