Experts and industry representatives have said seawater desalination plants are a durable option to solve water problem in various parts of Tamil Nadu. Participating in a meet on water management and conservation organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here today, they detailed national and international experiences of desalination plants and said the option was effective in taking care of the requirements of domestic consumers and the industry. As technologies for the plants were being improved by the day, the cost was coming down, making the option economically feasible.
