Chennai Mayor M. Subramaniam inaugurated the desilting and cleaning of the Chitrakulam tank in Mylapore. Over 50 conservancy staff were involved in the work of cleaning the tank and ridding it of plastic, weeds and other rubbish. They used boats to move inside the tank. The Mayor said it would be a continuous cleaning process.
