Eco-Conservation Society, Assam, in a release, expressed its deep concern over the unabated destruction of forest cover and pre-planned encroachment in the forest area in the State. The Society has put the blame for this on some 'corrupt' forest officials, 'inefficient' administration as well as 'narrow political' influences.
