October 2, 2005, the next birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, who had identified himself with the poor of the country, is the deadline set by the Janata Dal (Secular) supremo, H.D. Deve Gowda, to the Government to improve the living conditions of the slum dwellers in Bangalore as also the poor working in the unorganised sector.
