India should develop forests as a separate industry by delinking it from agriculture to cater to the country's food security and economic growth, an expert has suggested."There is an urgent need to keep natural forests undisturbed to conserve them, What is essential is to develop specialised forest plantation for fulfilling our daily needs," said Ministry of Environment and Forests former secretary T N Khoshoo, while inaugurating a three-day tree science conference.
