Dieselisation of vehicles will worsen air quality

In a statement issued on Tuesday, members of the Indian Medical Association have urged the government to take immediate measures to control particulate emission from the diesel vehicles in the country. General secretary of the Indian Medical Association Dr Prem Agarwal said, "Scientific evidence on the harmful effects of diesel particles is mounting, the governemnt should take immediate measures to control particle emission,"adding, "the pollution is responsible for casuing cancer, asthma, bronchitis and other disorders."
