It's a green card - a poor man's green card that , however, has nothing to do with the United States. The Madhya Pradesh government will hand over the first tranche of these cards to the state's poor in less than two weeks from now. Each green card will entitle an impoverished family to six quintals of grain. In return, the cardholder will have to work towards a greener Madhya Pradesh, improving wastelands and degraded forests.
