Disaster management awareness camp held

Under the aegis of NDRF, 128 Battalion Army camp at Katamur located near Changchari, a day-long awareness camp on disaster management awareness and human rights was arranged recently for the benefit of general public of various circles. During the camp, demonstrations on how to offer medical treatment to the confined and distressed people during natural disasters, like earthquake, fire, flood, etc., were shown. Various disaster control techniques were demonstrated. An attractive exhibition in regard to management of natural disasters was also arranged with various models and necessary equipment used in the operations. The camp, attended by local students, teachers, government officials, guests, etc., was addressed by Deputy Commandant, NDRF, BS Dhar. In his speech, Dhar narrated how the Army battalion had been offering emergent services to the distressed people in various localities since the past several years. It may be noted that a branch office of the NDRF at Katamur, near, Chenngchari, has been established for the training and offering aids in disaster management to the willing voluntary and other organisations.
