More than 30 square kilometres of mangroves near the Great Barrier Reef are suffering from dieback disease, with a report blaming chemicals from sugar cane farms as the most likely cause. The report, by the University of Queensland's Marine Botany Group, said the dieback was the worst of its kind in the world.
