The report on apparent contamination of drinking water in six wells of Mandya town is very disturbing and cause for much concern. The report, based on a paper prepared by Bangalore University's Department of Civil Engineering, says that water taken from six wells in two areas of Mandya town was found to be brimmining with contaminants and pollutants like fecal coliforms and high amounts of chlorides and nitrates.
