The major pruning of trees around the airport area in Diu taken up by the Vadodara district, Gujarat, official has come in for criticism by residents living a few kilometers away. They claim that nearly 400 trees have been felled in the restricted forest zone. Officials, however, suspect the pruning of trees a handiwork of encroachers who have been trying to stake claim on the prime land in the area.
