Down-and-out taxi drivers wait to get their jobs back

For Mumbai taxi drivers, the Azad Maidan grounds have become like a second home. They have been camping here, on and off, for more than 40 days to protest against the loss of their livelihood since the clampdown on polluting cabs. To reduce emissions, cab drivers would have to ensure regular maintenance of their vehicles, which would perhaps cost Rs 1,500 a month for maintenance alone.
