Draft national forest policy 2001 unveiled

Pakistan's Minister for Environment, Omar Asghar Khan on Wednesday unveiled the draft National Forest Policy, 2001, inviting comments and suggestions from experts as well as civil society representatives within a fortnight. The draft forest policy, formulated after an interactive process of more than five years of consultation with provincial governments, AJK, NAs and the civil society, aims at sustainable development of the country's forestry resources, Omar Asghar Khan told the newsmen at a press briefing.
