Drive against polybags today

Women and Environment (WE) and Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal jointly launched an active programme to remove the polythene bags from the environment the other day. WE is a band of around 20 people, comprising of women, some retired, working, school, college students and volunteers. At initially level it was started at Bittan Market, the biggest Haat on April 10, 2009 at 4.30 pm. During the programme member of WE distributed paper bags among the hawkers and consumers and they informed to the community about harmful efforts of polythene. WE is organising this bimonthly programme at Bittan Market. Such kind of programme would be organised at large scale on Thursday at the same place at the same time. WE are also planning to branch out at other localities of the state capital in near future.
