The education department, enlisting the support of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), today launched a special "back-to-school" drive which will target 5,600 out-of-school children in Bangalore city limits and bring them back to mainstream schooling. The programme, a special drive of "Chinnara Angala", will identify children who are either dropouts or have never been to school, put them through interactive day-long sessions for two months and allow entry into the mainstream in various classes depending on their calibre and ages.
