The Jammu and Kashmir Government has launched a drive to retrieve the forest area from encroachers and to effemctively check timber smuggling in the state. Forest and Environment Minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan today told reporters that 8,000 hectares of forest land had been reclaimed from encroachers and many timber smugglers had been booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
