The state health administration will carry out a door-to-door polio immunisation programme from February 11 to 13 in the wake of increasing reports about wild virus in various areas. Nomadic tribes and migrant labourers are target groups as they are carrying the wild polio virus. The district medical and health officer, Ch. Jaya Kumari said, "On Sunday we have administered drops and we are going to take up house visit in the next three days to immunise the children who are not immunised today on national immunisation day. This is being done to wipe out any recurrence of wild virus as it happened in previous years in some remote districts. Parents should to co-operate with health staff when they visit houses and apartments to immunise the children for the next three days.' She added that in Hyderabad alone 3,200 camps had been set up and 12,800 personnel had been deployed for the purpose. The Governor, Mr N.D.
