BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to make use of dustbins mandatory for all marginal and small businesses that are into sale of food stuff in the city. It would include mobile vendors too. All violations will attract a penalty of Rs 50.
The decision was taken in a bid to facilitate sanitation drive. The corporation has planned to crack down on violators from November 15 but not before publicising it.
Municipal Commissioner Aparajita Sarangi said small and marginal businesses, including those at vending zones, would have to install dustbins, preferably green-coloured ones.
