study initiated: The Punjab Government has asked an Amritsar-based scientist for studying the "impact of pollution on fish production. Official sources said continued decline in the fish production in the main rivers and canals of the state had forced the Punjab Government to allocate the project to the scientist who was not an employee of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB).
