Concerned over the unabated earth-cutting prevalent in the Meghalaya side of the Khanapara-Jorabat road, Dispur has sought interference of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, to check the menace. The earth-cutting has been going on in these areas, especially in the Ribhoi district, Assam, triggering serious imbalances in the environment.
