Jardhar Gaon, a typical hill village nestling in the serene and picturesque surroundings in the Himalayan foothills has achieved great success in conserving forests, reviving agricultural traditions and developing an amazing range of crop diversity. Situated in the Tehri district at an altitude of 1,500 metres, the village lies in what is called the Hemvalghati, the valley of the Hemval river which originates in the Surkhanda peak and merges with the Ganga at Shivpuri near Rishikesh.
