Eco-tourism opens new milestone in species protection

This statement was made during a meeting between the Minister of the Environment, Paula Francisco, with a delegation of US congressmen, which discussed cooperation strategies to protect endangered species of Angolan fauna and flora and eco-tourism between the two countries.
The Angolan official emphasized the interest of the United States in remaining to support the existing partnership in the field of training and qualification of the Polytechnic Institute of the Environment, in Cuando Cubango.
Paula Francisco informed that the results of the Wildness Safari project, which has identified new species of fauna and flora for three years, are underway.
The Cabinet minister said that the presentation of the first phase of these results and a memorandum of understanding, with the support of National Geographic and other scientific research agencies of the country, are being prepared for the same purpose.
