plan being studied : The government is undertaking a study regarding introduction of electric vehicles. Environment ministry officials told this correspondent here on Saturday that electric vehicles were environment-friendly means of transport and their operational cost was lower than that of vehicles operated by petrol/ gasoline/ fuel oil etc,.They said that since fuel was not used in electric vehicles, they caused no pollution. Batteries used in them were rechargeable, they added.
